S’hail 2021 opens at Katara on Tuesday!
Katara – The Cultural Village will host events for the fifth edition of the S’hail – Katara International Hunting and Falconry Exhibition beginning on Tuesday. Organizers and attendees were busy making last preparations for the main event at Katara’s Al Hikma Square and Hall on Monday.
HE Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani and Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz al-Saud visited the site yesterday. Each of them walked through booths displaying hunting and falconry supplies as well as firearms as well as camping gear.
160 companies from 18 countries will participate in the show. The list includes local and international producers, as well as companies that provide hunting and falconry equipment. Additionally, a specific area is reserved for four-wheel-drive SUVs adapted for safari camping. There are also tents with modern technology hunting aids inside the show hall. Veterinary falcon hospitals and falconry pavilions are also on display.
“This year’s exhibition is also spread over a large area which exceeds all previous editions and ensures more space and safe distance for all,” a Katara press statement noted.
The show is open every day from 10 am to 10 pm, however, on Friday it will be open from 2 pm to 11 pm. the Ministry of Public Health has directed that all Covid-19 preventive measures should be followed during this expo, which is one of largest in the Middle East and North Africa area (MoPH). The organisers have said that only fully vaccinated persons aged 12 and older would be given admission into the event.
Additionally, Katara has provided its customers with a smartphone app for secure purchasing and tourist experience. For the auctions, it also provides a list of the best sorts of falcons to choose from in the app.
In addition to Debor and Zoom providing logistical assistance, S’hail is sponsored by Ooredoo, the Qatar Insurance Company and the Social and Sport Contribution Fund (Daam).
Using the smartphone app, S’hail’s most coveted daily falcon auction will take place. At the exhibition, you’ll also find more creative competitions, programmes, and cultural activities that promote the preservation of history and promote interest in original customs.
It was stated that there will be two competitions: one for the most pleasing pavilion and another for the most beautiful falcon hood’ for its workmanship, appearance, and comfort aspect. QR20,000 will be presented to S’hail’s best pavilion; $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000, respectively, to the best falcon eye hoods.
Visitors may taste traditional and hunting food cooked at the show. A temporary opening of Snan Food Hall has been announced by Katara in conjunction with the event. All Katara eateries, according to the organisers, will adhere to health precautions and safety requirements stipulated by the relevant authorities.
