Shooter legend is thrown off the index after 24 years
GoldenEye 007 is a real shooter classic, but German fans haven’t seen much of it. After the release he was put on the index and thus banned. Now, 24 years later, the ban has been lifted – there may also be a new release.
GoldenEye 007: Finally removed from the list
The N64 game was groundbreaking for the entire shooter genre, but unfortunately GoldenEye 007 was never released in Germany. The James Bond game was put on the index by the then federal testing agency for writings harmful to minors. On October 29, 2021, the game was officially removed from the list of indexed media and thus many new possibilities are open. GoldenEye 007 may even be released for the Nintendo Switch.
In this series of pictures we show you which Switch games are particularly popular:
The deletion of the list was requested
The James Bond game developed by Rare in 1997 was not automatically removed from the list, according to the Cutting Reports website, but requested for a fee. That could be an indication that there are other plans for the game already. One possibility would be, for example, that Nintendo wants to release the shooter as part of the N64 expansion pack for the Switch. After all, the range of games is to be gradually expanded.

VSo far, not everyone has been enthusiastic about the expansion package for the Service Switch Online. Above all, the price of 39.99 euros for individual membership and 69.99 euros for family membership has been sharply criticized.
Although the package includes the Happy Home Designer DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Nintendo fans are shocked by what they consider to be the unjustifiably high price. One insider, however, thinks she knows why Switch online subscribers have to pay twice as much per year for the expansion package.
