Shura Council welcomes Amir’s US visit results

Doha: The Speaker of the Shura Council, HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, presided over a routine weekly meeting of the Shura Council today.

The council appreciated the Amir’s HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s visit to the United States on Monday and welcomed the outcomes of His Highness’ fruitful conversations with US President HE Joe Biden in Washington at the start of the session.

At the discussion, the participants discussed ways to further deepen and strengthen their long-standing strategic cooperation relations and exchange perspectives on regional and international developments within the context of their shared goal of promoting regional peace and stability.Β 

The designation of Qatar as a key non-NATO partner of the United States was also welcomed by the Council. Following then, HE Dr Ahmed bin Nasser Al Fadhala, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, read the session’s agenda. The previous session’s minutes were approved.

Foreign diplomatic and consular missions’ real estate holdings in the country were reviewed by the Council after it received a report from the Internal and External Affairs Committee.

The Council accepted the aforementioned draft law as received by the Honorable Council of Ministers after a comprehensive debate of the report.
