South Al Wakra Health Centre was officially inaugurated by the Minister

HE Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, inaugurated the South Al Wakra Health Centre of the Primary Health Care Corporation on Monday. Several new health facilities would be opened across the nation to satisfy the growing need for primary healthcare services, she said, taking into account the geographical distribution and population density of each region in which a health facility is opened.

When it comes to patient care, the Ministry of Public Health is trying to make sure that all patients receive the correct treatment at the right time. There is also a constant improvement in the quality of services offered to keep up with the changing demands of patients while maintaining the highest quality standards.

The new centre has all the required criteria to offer exceptional health and medical services for optimal usage. said PHCC’s Managing Director, Dr Mariam Abdulmalik. To achieve sustainability, Dr Abdulmalik explained that the distribution of services at health centres has been done following the plans developed as well as corporate strategy, future vision and patient needs.

To now, there are 28 PHCC health centres spread around the country. Many patients in the zone will be shifted to this new facility, which will influence scheduling appointments for specialised clinics.

There will be 5,000 patients in the first year, and then it will rise to 10,000. From Sunday through Thursday, the new facility will be open from 7 am to 11 pm. There are nine clinics spread over an area of 3,000 square metres at South Al Wakra Health Centre, which has a single-storey main structure.

While maintaining international fire safety requirements, the architecture of the building represents Qatar’s tradition and culture while also achieving 3-star sustainability certification. Included in the design is the use of next-generation technology in the medical equipment industry.

All of the new health centres were designed to meet the highest standards of quality and safety, as determined by the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS), where architectural and operational considerations were taken to achieve a 3-star environmental rating in terms of energy-saving and environment preservation.
