Metta Sandiford-Artest responded to LeBron James’ “proposal” to sign a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers to join the team in the final stretch of the 2021-22 NBA season.
At the end of Tuesday’s meeting between the Lakers and Rockets, James jokingly told Artest to stay ready for the prospect of signing with the Californian team.
Hours later, Metta took advantage of his Twitter account to admit that he is not ready to return to the NBA at 42 years old.
“Hey guys. I wish I was ready for a 10-day contract, but I’m not, “said the controversial former Indiana Pacers player.
Artest added: “I am sure I am ready for a 10 minute contract.”
Remember that Metta last played in the NBA in 2017, precisely with the Los Angeles Lakers.
