Qatar will plant over one million trees before FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

Riyadh: Qatar will plant one million trees before FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. In supporting the Middle East Green Initiative, the country will also plant 10 million trees by 2030.

This was announced during the Middle East Green Initiative Summit in Riyadh, by the HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi.

“We praise the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and its keenness on launching the Middle East Green Initiative which we aspire to be a great leap in the joint environmental action at the global level,” said HE Al Kaabi.

He explained that climate change has a huge impact on modern life. Collective cooperation is the most effective way to fight against the challenges posed by climate change.

He added that the Middle East Green Initiative is helping to fight against climate change and further strengthen the efforts to develop and preserve ecosystems. Environmental development is an important goal of Qatar’s National Vision 2030.

Qatar has prepared a comprehensive national plan to cope with the challenges posed by climate change. Qatar has introduced 35 initiatives to reduce carbon emissions and more than 300 initiatives for adaptation.
