QBWA signs a memorandum of understanding with the Business Year

Doha: A new study on Qatar’s economy, “The Business Year: Qatar 2022,” is currently in development, just in time for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022. It will also include a special segment about women in Qatari leadership positions and their contribution to Qatar’s national vision for 2030, as well as economic impact analysis of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

With the help of this coverage, The Business Year will welcome remarkable female executives to tell their stories and come together to represent the country and its female leadership. So that we can throw more light on this problem affecting Qatar’s economy and society, The Business Year has inked an MoU with the Qatari Businesswomen Association (QBA) (QBWA). QBWA Vice-Chairwoman Aisha Al Fardan and The Business Year Country Manager Nataly Almanza organized the signing event.

“QBWA is very happy to be working with The Business Year to best capture how women are contributing to the development of Qatar, in a context where the country will gain international exposure thanks to the final preparations for the FIFA World Cup,” Al Fardan stated.

“The Business Year is grateful to QBWA and all the female representatives for their support in preparing this new edition on Qatar. Special attention needs to be given as well to international companies that have invested in Qatar and decided to appoint females in leadership positions, as they are contributing significantly to gender equality,” Almanza added.

Some of the women interviewed by The Business Year in Qatar include Dr. Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari, Minister of Public Health; Hessa Al Jaber, Chairperson of Qatar Satellite Company (Es’hailsat); Reem Al Mansoori, Assistant Undersecretary of Digital Society Development at MOTC; and Sheikha Alanoud bint Hamad Al Thani, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Business Officer at QFC Authority. The Business Year has been operating in Qatar since 2014.

“The Business Year: Qatar 2022” will be The Business Year’s eighth edition on Qatar and the publication will coincide with Qatar’s final preparations for the FIFA World Cup. Interviewees will be invited to share their words on how companies and institutions have contributed to the long road to hosting the event, as well as on plans for the future to maintain the country’s strong growth path in the event’s aftermath.

There will be a national and international distribution of the publication and a wider readership via The Business Year’s formidable digital platform network. Most important business information platforms, such as Bloomberg Terminal, Refinitiv Eikon Dow Jones Factiva, and FactSet as well as PressReader or Google Books will be able to access all interviews.
