Taliban agrees to two evacuation flights per week with Qatar

Doha: Axios cites an interview with Qatar Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in reporting that Qatar has secured an agreement with the Taliban to begin chartered evacuations out of Kabul airport.

With this deal, Qatar Airways will charter two flights a week to take people out of Afghanistan, Axios says. This will allow the US and other countries to get a lot more people out of Afghanistan.

The Foreign Minister also said that talks are going on to let Ariana Afghan Airlines fly once a week if the Taliban agrees to certain security rules, but the deal hasn’t been done yet.
