Doha: Testing positive for COVID-19 during the Omicron wave in Qatar? How soon to get a booster dose
A person who had COVID-19 during the Omicron wave and had it confirmed by PCR or a rapid antigen test should get a booster vaccine after three months, according to the Ministry of Public Health.
If desired, a month after infection, the booster dose is safe and viable. Before obtaining the booster dose, the patient must have had one month to recover from infection before the vaccine can be administered.
In the current COVID-19 laws, those who recover from COVID-19 and receive an official test result from a Ministry-approved medical institute get nine months of protection and the same privileges as vaccinated people. Their Ehteraz app will show their Recovery Status, which is valid for 9 months.
