Sky Map allows you to see and identify stars, planets and constellations. However since there are many different Android phone models there are a lot of issues that make it not work properly.

And if you find a message saying that the app is available for your phone, then the problem is not with your phone. You can try the following solutions to solve the problem:
Remove the storage card before installing the Sky Map app
If you are on a relatively old Android version, remove the internal storage card before installing the app. Once installed, you can reinsert the card again and move the app to the card after it has been installed if desired.
Activate automatic mode
The app has a manual mode which requires you to drag the screen with your finger to look at the sky. This may cause the application to malfunction or not work properly. As a result, you have to activate the automatic mode where the screen aligns with the area of the sky you are looking at.
Recalibrate the compass and GPS
You can do this by moving the phone in an 8-shaped motion to activate the sensors. And it resets automatically and aligns the position you are holding your phone to more precisely. There is also a calibration option in the Google Sky map settings that you can use to enable calibration.
And if the app doesn’t work even after calibrating your phone, make sure you don’t stand near any electrical devices or magnetic materials that could interfere with your phone’s sensors.
Turn on location services on the phone
The location services feature of the Sky Map app allows you to determine your exact location using your phone’s GPS sensors. You must also enable the GPS option to work permanently within the application settings menu.
This is so that the app does not use your Wi-Fi location instead of your GPS location. Which will be less accurate and may lead to display alignment issues.
