Marvel antihero shows up in the new trailer

With “Morbius” a new Marvel film starts in our cinemas in less than three months. A fresh trailer gives you new insights into the adventure of the antihero of the same name.

Morbius: Marvel antihero shows up in the new trailer

Sony Pictures is diligently expanding its own Marvel universe. Has been running for two weeks “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” in our cinemas while “Spider-Man: No Way Home” already casts its shadow. But then of course it’s not over, because the living vampire “Morbius” is already in position and shows himself in one new trailer to his upcoming movie. As always, you can watch the video below.

Morbius: New Marvel antihero seeks a cure

At the center of the story is Dr. Michael Morbius (Oscar winner Jared Leto), a world-renowned scientist with a rare blood disease. In his search for a cure that will help him and other people, he initially seems to have achieved an unprecedented breakthrough. However, the supposed healing also unleashes a dark abyss in him that could consume everything.

After the two “Venom” films, “Morbius” is the latest offshoot of the so-called Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. However, based on the latest trailer, it is not entirely clear in which cinematic universe the eponymous main character is actually at home.

Adrian Toomes’ (Michael Keaton) appearance suggests a connection to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (“Iron Man”, “Guardians of the Galaxy”), while the logo of the Daily Bugle newspaper refers to Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” trilogy . The logo of the Oscorp group, which can be seen briefly in the video, is strikingly reminiscent of that from the “The Amazing Spider-Man” films. Maybe “Spider-Man: No Way Home” could provide some clarity, in which Peter Parker will explore the Marvel multiverse with Doctor Strange.

“Morbius” has been postponed several times in the last few months and is now due to start in German cinemas on January 27, 2022.
