The remains of Elijah Lewis, a missing 5-year-old boy, found in Massachusetts

The body of Elijah Lewis, aged five, was found in a state park in Abington, Massachusetts, Saturday, according CBS Boston. The boy from Merrimack, New Hampshire, had been reported as missing October 14.
Ames Nowell State Park was closed to the public as police searched the area Saturday morning. Investigators returned to the park to continue the search that began there on Friday. Police moved to the area after receiving corroborated information about the park as a search location Thursday night.
A New Hampshire corpse dog found the boy’s remains buried in the woods.
A coroner will perform an autopsy on the body to confirm identity. The manner and cause of death will also be determined. No one has been charged with his death at this time.
“Obviously a little boy is gone. No one deserved to die this way and we must make sure we do everything in our power to make sure we can get justice for this child, ”said the Plymouth County District Attorney, Timothy Cruz.
“We are very saddened by this situation, by Elijah’s death and by the fact that he was eliminated here in the forest. Our condolences go out to his family and family friends, and to the community that is mourning his death, ”said New Hampshire’s Chief Assistant Attorney General, Susan Morrell.
Elijah’s mother, Danielle Dauphinais, and her boyfriend Joseph stapf were arrested in the city of New York with arrest warrants for witness tampering and endangering a minor.
