Buccaneers activate Mike Evans and could play in Week 17

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers activated NFL COVID-19 reserve wide receiver Mike Evans on Friday, making him likely for the Week 17 game against the New York Jets.

Evans had been ruled out of the game against the Jets due to his leg injury, but the receiver could be in prime condition to reinforce the Bucs’ attack.

Evans’ return would be surprising given the speed of his recovery, which would be celebrated within Tampa Bay, which recently lost Chris Godwin for the remainder of the season.

Evans has 64 receptions, 899 yards and 11 touchdowns so far this 2021-22 NFL season.
