The social network sensation of the moment TikTok has announced that it exceeded the barrier of 1,000 million monthly active users worldwide, which means that each person connects to the application once a month. Without a doubt the app of short videos continues to reap benefits.

The news of having reached that number of users around the world was shared by the Director of Operations of TikTok, Vanessa Pappas, who assured through a short video, to overcome the barrier of one billion users.

“More than a billion people from around the world come to TikTok to be entertained, inspired or discover something new.”

But those are not only reasons to celebrate, because only a couple of months ago, TikTok became one of the most downloaded applications in the world, according to the survey conducted by Nikkei Asia globally, which earned him to be above Facebook, Messenger and Instagram.

However, compared to other applications, is still a long way from surpassing Facebook, which has more monthly active users, since only in its last cut of July 2021, 2.8 million were counted, while YouTube had 2.2 million users, followed by WhatsApp with 2 billion and finally Instagram with 1.3 million users.

In 2017, TikTok saw the light all over the world as a global version of its Chinese app Douyin, which was developed by the company ByDance, which is specialized in a short video format ideal for mobile phones.

The social network has also stood out for its popular content on the platform such as sports, art, culture, music, fashion and even crafts, so I reiterate that it will continue to be a home for the diverse community of families, small businesses and creators of content that is part of TikTok.
