Doha: The 3rd Local Dates Festival for the 2021 season begins tomorrow. The Ministry of Municipality and Environment is all set to organize the event along with the Department of Agricultural Affairs and Souq Waqif Management.
The 3rd Local Dates festival is set for 10 days, from 3 pm to 9 pm and until 10 pm during the weekends. 60 local farms and international companies will participate in the festival.
The festival aims to introduce and promote various kinds of dates, Muhammad Al Salem, Head of the Old Markets Department at the Private Engineering Office said in a statement.
Al Salem added that companies, exhibiting farms, venues for accompanying events, and public services will also have places available at the event. The Western square has been dedicated by the Souq Waqif Management to host the festival in a large tent.
The venue is well equipped with all the necessary items to complete the marketing process. The festival will take place by following the Covid 19 preventive and precautionary measures. In order to maintain the health and safety of festival visitors, a vaccine against Coronavirus, as well as wearing a mask, are mandatory for all festival visitors, the Souq Waqif Management explained.
