In leaked audios and videos, during the confrontations where the drug dealer Ariel Treviño Peña, alias el Tigre, one of the leaders of the Gulf Cartel (CDG), you hear how criminals who clashed with the military and state police ask them not to shoot them anymore.
“No longer shoot, no longer shoot man, the race is already given, be honorable,” says a gunman in a recording in which he allegedly surrenders with his accomplices.

In an audio, the official interlocutor offers the gunmen an ambulance to attend to their wounded.
And in videos you can see how they are being detained, and thrown on the floor while the emergency services and the authorities keep them surrounded.
In addition to the Tigre, two other members of the Gulf Cartel and an innocent woman died in the clashes, in which four gunmen were also arrested, as reported by the State Coordination Group for the Construction of Peace, which brings together the police and military corporations.
Treviño, who identified himself as Javier Enrique Hernández Gutiérrez or Francisco Hernández Martínez. was one of the priority criminal targets of the Government of Tamaulipas and the security agencies of the United States.
El Tigre was the head of the plaza of the Gulf Cartel in the municipality of Nuevo Progreso, a border city located between Reynosa and Matamoros, and which is dominated by the Scorpiones cell, one of the groups that violently dispute control of the cartel.
The confrontations in which El Tigre died, began when hitmen attacked elements that were carrying out patrols, which unleashed persecutions and criminals carried out violent roadblocks, in which vehicles were stolen and set on fire, in at least 15 points to obstruct the arrival of official reinforcements.
