Randa Markos rules out retirement after first win in nearly two years: “I’m not ready to forget about MMA”

[ad_1]

Saturday afternoon Randa Markos put an end to her bad moment on the Octagon defeating the Brazilian by unanimous decision Livinha souza in the Preliminaries of UFC Fight Night Las Vegas 41.

The seasoned 36-year-old flyweight snapped her four-game losing streak after nearly two years without winning, but she’s not ready to say goodbye to the sport she’s been a part of since 2012.

“I feel good about my performance,” Markos told the media at UFC APEX (via MMA Junkie). «I worked very hard with my team. We have been preparing from the previous fight (his controversial loss to Luana pinheiro), but I couldn’t show what I had learned. (…) I have not finished. I’m not ready to forget about MMA. I’m here and I want to make sure I stay here. For me, this fight made or broke me. So it was.

Until before Saturday the last victory of the Iranian fighter had come in the form of a split decision against Ashley yoder on October 26, 2019. After that, he suffered defeats against Amanda ribas, Mackenzie dern, Kanako Murata and Pinheiro, who beat him by disqualification in mid-2021.
