Justin Gaethje made his own UFC 155-pound Top 5 recently and left out Conor McGregor. But one thing is the current situation of the division and another the history of MMA. Many do not hesitate to introduce the Irish in their list of the best but there are also those who do not, such as Dustin Poirier. Current lightweight world title contender – expected to fight with Charles Oliviera on UFC 269– shares his Mount Rushmore of mixed martial arts (via Valuetainment).

“He used to be a big fan of Georges St-Pierre. He’s one of the guys who can do it all. He was one of the first guys who could really put everything together and he was a complete mixed martial artist, world champion, he spoke well and I was a huge fan of Georges. Khabib [Nurmagomedov] it’s up there, fedor [Emelianenko] it’s up there. Fedor has to be up there. Jon Jones has to be there too«.

Perhaps one day Dustin Poirier himself will also be on the list of the four best of all time; that happens to win the championship on December 11 and have a great reign. He’s certainly one of the greatest in 155-pound history but that’s a really different conversation. We will see how his career continues.
