MoI reports 219 violations of Covid 19 preventive measures in Qatar

There have been 219 violations of the Covid-19 precautionary measures reported in Qatar by the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

212 people were arrested for not wearing masks in public, and 5 people were arrested for not keeping a safe physical distance from the other people around them.

For failing to install the Ehteraz application, two people were referred to the Public prosecution. Public Prosecution was notified for violations. Thousand of people have been sent to the Public Prosecution for violating the Covid-19 precautionary measures.

“In line with the cabinet decision based on Law No. 17 of 1990 regarding infectious diseases, the competent authorities referred several people to the Prosecution for violating COVID19 preventive and precautionary measures in force,” Ministry said in a statement.

The Ministry also stated that the competent authorities urge the public to follow the precautionary and preventive measures in place to protect themselves and others from the spread of the Coronavirus in society.

As the Covid-19 pandemic spreads, the MoI and health authorities have been warning the public to take precautionary measures such as wearing masks, avoiding close contact, and limiting the number of people riding in vehicles.
