Marina Rodriguez criticizes Jędrzejczyk for his inactivity; Believes it should be removed from the Strawweight rankings

Since the last time Joanna Jędrzejczyk was over the octagon the panorama of the division of the 115 pounds of the UFC has changed dramatically.

Among the new contenders for the division is the Brazilian Marina Rodriguez, who, after his successful participation in the UFC Fight Night Las Vegas 39, nothing has been saved when referring to the privileged place that the Polish holds in the classification.

“Let’s be honest, at this point she shouldn’t even be ranked,” Rodriguez said at the post-event press conference (via MMA Fighting). She’s been out of action for so long, and she doesn’t want to fight me, so I don’t want to fight her, either. The problem is that it has a very important place in the ranking and there are many girls who are fighting two or even three times a year trying to get there, but that place is reserved.

Rodriguez, number six in the standings, reached the three victories in a row on Saturday afternoon by imposing with authority to Mackenzie dern over five rounds en route to a unanimous decision.

Jędrzejczyk, meanwhile, has not competed since losing a split decision to the now former champion, Weili Zhang, in which it is considered one of the best fights in the history of women’s MMA. That title match took place as the co-star of the UFC 248 in deck of 2020.

Despite her 2-4 record in her last six performances on the Octagon, the Pole remains at the top of the rankings.
