PRCS and Qatar Red Crescent Society provide food, relief aid to Gaza
Doha: The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has finished the distribution of humanitarian aid to individuals affected by the most recent battle in Gaza in collaboration with the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS).
This is part of the “We all Stand for Palestine” humanitarian supply convoy that was recently deployed. Tons of food and aid materials were carried into Gaza via the Rafah Border Crossing in mid-January in collaboration with the Egyptian Red Crescent.
โThe aid distribution came under the Palestine relief campaign launched by QRCS to help the people of Gaza during the recent war, which left behind hundreds of damaged homes and buildings, as well as thousands of displaced families.” The head of QRCS’s representation office in Gaza, Dr Akram Nassar, explained the mechanism of aid distribution and the number of beneficiaries in Gaza. By distributing food parcels and relief kits valued at QR 500,000, this humanitarian intervention relieved the suffering of 12,000 people.
Qatar Red Crescent Society ( QRCS) strives to alleviate the suffering of the poorest families in Gaza with its numerous relief operations including Warm Winter and Ramadan Iftar. Over QR5m was spent on helping up to 100,000 beneficiaries.
