A Memorandum of Understanding is signed between Qatar and Yemen associations

Doha: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) President, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, hosted a meeting in his office with the Yemen Football Association (YFA) President, Sheikh Ahmed Al Eissi.

Secretary-General of YFA, Dr Hamid Al Shaibani and the Vice President of QFA, Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Mohannadi, also attended the meeting.

Doha is hosting Asian qualifiers for the 2022 AFC Asian Cup – Uzbekistan. The qualifiers will end on October 31. Yemen along with Syria, Sri Lanka and Qatar, is in Group A of the tournament. 

Both federations discussed the outstanding relationship between them. Officials from the two federations discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation to improve ties between them and promote their growth.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the QFA President and his Yemeni counterpart after the reception ceremony to lay the groundwork for future collaborations aimed at developing the game locally, in Asia, and internationally.
