The first day of S’hail 2021 witnesses a huge turnout

The 5th edition of Katara International Hunting and Falcons Exhibition (S’hail 2021) began yesterday, with a large attendance and extensive involvement of enterprises specialising in hunting weaponry, hunting supplies, falcon, and excursions.

This year’s highlights at S’hail include the newest weaponry and gadgetry, as well as an exhibition of life-size wild animal artworks and world-class falcon sculpting and wood carving artistry.

The first day also saw the arrival of a number of ambassadors accredited to the State of Qatar, including ambassadors from Kenya, Sudan, Serbia, Syria, and Peru. They were familiar with the exhibition’s most significant pavilions, as well as the most prominent local, regional, and worldwide participants and their different items connected to falcon hunting weapons and supplies. The show has around 160 national and international firms from 18 countries.

The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) is organising the event, which will take place till Saturday (September 11). The exhibition is open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., except Friday, when it opens at 2 p.m. and closes at 11 p.m. Prof Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of Katara, expressed his delight at the inauguration of the fifth edition of the exhibition.

“S’hail is growing in importance year after year and the fifth edition confirms its leadership as being the largest and most important international exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa in the field of hunting and falconry,” he said.

He also stated that the exhibition is continuing to grow and expand, both in terms of additional space allocated to accommodate all of the participating companies’ pavilions and equipping them with innovative and appealing designs as well as impressive artistic and aesthetic features, and in terms of marketing.

The event serves as a significant platform for introducing international tourists to Qatari culture and heritage since it highlights a key component of Qatari ancestor‘s legacy linked to hunting and falconry.

The electronic falcon auction, which will be available through a unique mobile application and can be followed online from anywhere in the globe, is the highlight of this edition. It will feature a collection of the greatest varieties of falcons, all of which are of good quality and perform exceptionally well in hunting. Visitors may examine images and statistics from all sorts of participating falcons, as well as all auction information.

Falcons at the exhibition cost between QR15,000 to QR100,000. A reward of QR20,000 has been offered for the most attractive business pavilion at the show to promote innovation and creativity.
