Sergio Pettis defends bantamweight belt against Kyoji Horiguchi at Bellator 272

An interesting title fight for the bantamweight will be part of the undercard of Bellator 272. The champion Sergio Pettis will defend his belt against Kyoji horiguchi.

The match was revealed this morning in the latest issue of Morning Kombat.

Kyoji he was already champion of Bellator after beating Darrion Caldwell by unanimous decision in an event between both organizations and when he was under contract with Rizin. Unfortunately, he was unable to defend his belt after sustaining a serious knee injury, where he had to undergo a knee reconstruction and was out of action for a year.

In his last fight, he knocked out Kai Asakura on Rizin FF 26. Months later, he decided to vacate the organization’s bantamweight belt, and decided to return to the organization where he was already champion.

PettisFor his part, he is in the best phase of his career. The ex UFC he has won all three of his fights in the hex. In his last fight, he beat Juan Archuleta by unanimous decision and was crowned bantamweight champion of the organization.

Undefeated in its passage through the organization of California, Pettis he will seek to retain the belt in his first starting defense against one of the best bantamweights in the world.

Bellator 272 will be held on December 3 at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Uncasville, Connecticut.
