Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey in Ankara

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs met with Mevlut Cavusoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, yesterday in Ankara.

Both sides addressed Afghanistan’s humanitarian crisis as well as security and political developments since their last meeting.

The situation at Kabul International Airport was also addressed during the meeting. Ways to improve the safety at the airport and maintaining airflow also became a part of the discussion. The visit is part of Qatar’s efforts to achieve peace and stability in Afghanistan.

“Met with my brother @MevlutCavusoglu in Ankara to discuss the perspectives on Afghanistan. I’m pleased with the results of our fruitful cooperation, which contributed to reopening Kabul Airport and created a link between Afghanistan and the world.” said the Deputy Prime Minister in a tweet.
