UFC Las Vegas 41: Marvin Vettori eats the heavy kicks of Paulo Costa en route to a deserved unanimous decision

[ad_1]

Marvin vettori did not emerge unscathed from his contest in Semi-Complete with Paulo Costa, but he made a canny fight to get back on victory row.

In the stellar clash of the UFC Fight Night Las Vegas 41, the Italian, number five in the ranking, gave a fight to the muscular Brazilian en route to what would be a triumph by unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards.

Vettori always went forward, and although he did not connect Costa with a significant blow that compromised him, he was consistent in the combinations, which made the Brazilian back down more than once.

Costa, on the other hand, inflicted damage with his heavy kicks, and despite having led the last round, especially with the urgency of clearly losing the previous four, he did not put Vettori in much danger.

With development coming the distance, the Italian took his sixth win in his last seven appearances over the Octagon.

Costa, for his part, suffers the second defeat in a row in his career. ‘Borrachinha’ came from being defeated by Israel Adesanta by TKO in the second round. That combat took place in September 2020 as the star of the UFC 257.
