Apple equips MacBook Pro with a mini LED display

Apple has announced a redesign of the MacBook Pro, powered by the newly unveiled M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets, which feature a huge leap in display technology for the company’s laptops, with Mini LED displays that support ProMotion technology at a refresh rate of 120Hz.

The larger 16-inch MacBook Pro has a 16.2-inch screen with a resolution of 3456 x 2234 pixels. While the smaller 14-inch model has a 14.2-inch screen with a resolution of 3,024 x 1964 pixels.

Both sizes feature the same Mini LED technology that the company first introduced on the iPad Pro earlier this year.

This feature provides local dimming at a level that goes beyond conventional LED screens. This is despite the fact that it still does not quite match the level of OLED panels used by competitors such as Samsung.

The new displays also feature Apple’s ProMotion technology with a refresh rate of 120Hz, which enables faster refresh rates.

The company says that computers automatically adjust the refresh rate based on what you’re doing. For example, lower the refresh rate when your screen is stable.

ProMotion automatically changes the refresh rate to match the movement of user content across the screen to help conserve battery life and make tasks smoother and more responsive.

The technology also provides an option for users to set locked refresh rates, which is important for video editing or other use cases that depend on certain screen settings.

The new Mini LED displays are even brighter. It provides a sustained brightness of 1,000 nits, and 1,600 nits of peak brightness.

It also features a million-to-one contrast ratio, and the same Liquid Retina XDR that the company uses for its Pro Display XDR.

The new screens also offer thinner bezels. But with an iPhone-style bump for the main camera.

In addition, the company has brought the familiar quick disconnect connector to this latest lineup of MacBook Pro laptops.

The new MagSafe port features the familiar magnetic quick release that the company pioneered in 2006, preventing the laptop from falling to the ground if someone trips over the power cable.
