Call of Duty: Vanguard – Bug makes popular item useless

Bugs are not uncommon in games, but they don’t always cause as much frustration as the deployment shield in Call of Duty: Vanguard – it doesn’t even remotely do what it’s supposed to do.

CoD Vanguard: Operation shield is partially useless

Call of Duty: Vanguard was just released and takes you back to WWII with a brand new campaign. You slip into the role of an operator and try to take out your enemy. In addition to the campaign, you can also look forward to popular modes such as multiplayer and zombie, but like many new games this also has some problems.

For example, some items do not work as they should and especially the failure of the emergency shield is going viral right now.

Actually, this shield on the back should act as a barricade and protect you from incoming bullets, but obviously your opponents can just shoot through. At least that’s the case with the DP27, as can be seen in the video by Reddit user fpsdredd. So the shield is absolutely useless as a secondary weapon.

Certainly this will be a problem fixed in a future patch , but at least for the moment you should think carefully about whether and how you use the deployment shield.

A crossover with the anime Attack on Titan?

However, there are not only bugs that are worth reporting on. According to the well-known “Call of Duty” Dataminer Nanikos, there could be a surprising “Attack on Titan” crossover.

That wouldn’t be the only event in the series. For Warzone, the developer has already teamed up with brands such as Die Hard, Judge Dredd, Rambo and others. The cult anime Attack on Titan would therefore be unusual, but for many definitely a successful change.

The Dataminer found the signs in the memory dumps of Call of Duty: Vanguard. There are to read the words “Swordtitan” and “aot_titan”. What could that look like? Maybe there will be a new operator or skins for armor and weapons. Perhaps the great titans also play a role.

According to Nanikos, the collaboration should be implemented in December, officially nothing is known yet. The information is pure speculation, so don’t take it too seriously just yet. We will keep you up to date.

Haven’t played Vanguard yet? You can get a first impression of the game in the trailer:
