Hamad Medical Corporation establishes dedicated hospitalization facility for children with Covid-19

Doha: The Al Wakra Pediatric COVID-19 Center, on the Al Wakra Hospital campus, has been designated as a treatment centre for children with COVID-19 who require hospital admission by Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC).

To guarantee that COVID-19 paediatric patients receive the best possible medical care, this centre has been designated as a COVID-19 treatment facility. Hamad Medical Corporation will be able to provide high-quality care for young COVID-19 patients in one location thanks to its cutting-edge facility.

To assure high-quality care for COVID-19 paediatric patients who require hospitalisation, the state-of-the-art health centre offers a modern, safe healing environment. The Center has 39 inpatient beds, 4 intensive care and 22 observation beds. If necessary, the facility can accommodate up to 140 inpatient beds.

In addition to evaluating patients and sending them home for isolation, the Center will also admit children who need medical surveillance for a short stay or long-term. Children experiencing signs and symptoms of COVID-19 should be tested at one of HMC’s four Pediatric Emergency Centers – Al Sadd, Al Dayeen, Airport, and Al Rayan – or a primary health centre.
