Ministry of Labour takes action against 314 companies

Doha: Over the period of October 1 to November 15, the Ministry of Labour reported 314 companies for violating labour laws.
According to the Ministry of Labour, the violating firms are in the contracting and public services sector.
Companies failed to comply with Article No. 66 of the Labour Law, promulgated in Law No. 14 of 2004, as amended in Law No. 1 of 2015, by delaying or failing to pay expatriate workers’ salaries and wages.
As far as financial obligations are concerned, the ministry is eager to protect the rights of expatriate workers. The ministry continues to monitor employers’ compliance with these laws through inspections and quality campaigns.
