World Cup fan accommodations will be managed by Accor in Qatar

Doha: The organizing committee for the World Cup in Qatar has chosen Europe’s largest hotel group Accor to manage apartments and villas for fans staying in Qatar during next year’s tournament.

As part of the agreement, Qatar’s Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy will have Accor running its host country real estate portfolio through the end of 2022.

As a result of the decision, the Gulf Arab nation will have an adequate number of hotels in the form of houses, apartments, and villas for the coming years, Hassan al Thawadi, the head of Qatar’s organizing body, claimed.

Accor will operate more than 60,000 rooms in apartment and villa complexes across the country. Organizers hope that 1.2 million people will visit Qatar during the 28-day event starting next November.
