RTL + costs 2021: offer, function & price of the streaming service
RTL + (formerly TVNOW) is both a free media library and a paid streaming service for RTL broadcasters. Anyone who has missed an episode of “DSDS”, “Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten” or “Shopping Queen” can catch up on it here free of charge – the premium subscription turns the media library into a real streaming service. The RTL Group is renaming the streaming service and its media library from TVNOW to RTL + from November 4, 2021. For this reason, the station RTLplus had previously been given a name change to RTLup. However, nothing changes in terms of costs and features.
If you have missed an episode of your favorite show on one of the RTL channels, you can in most cases catch up on it for free on RTL +. With the two premium subscriptions, RTL + has now become a serious streaming service. In addition to the live streams from RTL’s free and pay TV channels, RTL + Premium offers the full range of its programs as video-on-demand. Premium membership can therefore not only be worthwhile for fans of RTL, VOX, NITRO & Co.
The offer from RTL + Premium (Duo)
First and foremost, of course, are the in-house productions for and by RTL. With RTL + Premium you have the opportunity to watch all the episodes of “Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten” that have been broadcast since the start of the series in 1992. The same applies to “Unter Uns”, “Everything that counts”, “Berlin – Day & Night” or “Cologne 50667”. If you are not into the Daily Soaps, you will find the complete seasons or at least a large archive of episodes of “Alarm für Cobra 11”, “Der Lehrer”, “Medicopter 117”, “The Perfect Dinner” and many other German series and Broadcasts.
But apart from the German productions, there are also many top-class international series on RTL +. So you can see the current episodes or even entire seasons of “The Handmaid’s Tale”, “The Good Doctor”, “For the People”, “The Enemy Within”, “Downton Abbey” and the many spin-offs in the “CSI” series. And a whole range of anime series such as “Naruto”, “Boruto”, “Pokémon”, “Yu-Gi-Oh” or “Gin Tama” as well as niche productions and indie films can be found here.
And then there are the documentaries and reports from ntv, sports highlights such as soccer games and Formula 1 races, advice, cooking and comedy programs. Overall, a large selection of content, only the meager range of blockbuster films is a bit negative.
