Souq Waqif to host the Agricultural Products and Local Honey Exhibition

Doha: From February 20 to March 1, the Agricultural Products and Local Honey Exhibition, coordinated by the Souq Waqif Department, is taking place at Al Ahmad Square.

Mohammed Abdullah Al Salem, the Director of Souq Waqif, said that the event will benefit both the producer and the customer and create an ideal marketing experience in a tourist destination.

The prices of vegetables and local honey are also competitive, he said. The Ministry of Municipality monitors them. The exhibition comes to promote Qatari products by setting up a marketing platform for people to learn about high-quality food from Qatari farms, and it will help people learn about Qatari farms.

It also introduces honey-producing businesses in the area and allows traders, entrepreneurs, and small businesses to show off their honey products to the public.

More than 70 pavilions, each representing a different farm or apiary, are showing local agricultural products, such as fresh fruits and honey.

Al Salem elaborated on the Department of Waqif Market’s ongoing support of local farmers, explaining that the administration does so through events like these. This allows them to sell their wares in Souq squares.

He also added that the administration of Souq Waqif is committed to following the country’s preventative steps to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
