Squid Game Creator has good news for all fans

For a long time, Squid game creator Hwang Dong-hyuk wasn’t sure whether he wanted to write a second season for the hit series. Now fans can breathe a sigh of relief. He himself confirmed that there will be a sequel.

Squid Game: Netflix’s hit streak continues

The South Korean series Squid Game is the unexpected hit of 2021 and has been since the release of this production over 130 million households worldwide watched the series for at least two minutes. The number is likely to be even higher now.

It’s hard to believe that this series darling is around 13 years old, because Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk wrote the script back in 2008. Then he waited for the right moment to shoot the series – and obviously he was spot on with his decision.

“The old Korean children’s games used in my series are simple and old, but I saw the potential to make them attractive around the world,” Hwang said in an interview with the Korea Times.

In another interview, the author thanked the audience and confirmed a sequel to the delight of the fans.

“There was so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season. I almost feel like you don’t give us any other choice, ”he joked. “There will actually be a second season. I already have them in my head. I’m in the planning phase right now, ”he said.

What could the second season be about?

Since the squid game creator doesn’t let you look into the cards, you can so far only speculate about what the second season might be about. It is possible that the character Gi-hun is trying to bring down the games. These seem to happen on a regular basis – maybe it is time to end this cruelty.
