736 building permits were issued in September, an increase of 18% in Qatar

Doha: Data released by the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) shows that the number of building permits issued in Qatar by municipalities in September has increased 18 per cent to 736, compared with 626 of August in Qatar.

The 81st issue of the Monthly Statistics of Building Permits and Building Completion certificates issued by all municipalities in the country has been released by the PSA in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME).

Al Da’ayen led the list of municipalities in terms of the number of building permits issued (23 per cent of total permits), followed by Al Rayyan with 170 permits (23 per cent) and Al Doha with 130 permits (18 per cent) and Al Wakrah with 123 permits (17 per cent).   

Umm Salal with 54 permits (7 per cent), Al Khor with 34 permits (5 per cent), Al Sheehaniya with 29 permits (4 per cent), and Al Shammal with 24 permits (3 per cent) were the rest of the municipalities. Based on the data, new building permits and additions permits accounted for 47 per cent (348) of the building permits issued in September 2021, while fencing permits accounted for 5 per cent (28), and additions permit accounted for 49 per cent (360).
