PS5 scalping was yesterday: rip-offs have found a new gaming victim

Regardless of whether it’s the PS5 or any other product – it’s always a shame when people buy or get things and then sell them as profitably as possible. This is also what happens with codes for the Elden Ring closed network test.

Elden Ring: Codes sell dearly on eBay

Elden Ring was announced for the first time at E3 2019, but after that it was quiet about the project. Nonetheless, the hype about the upcoming open world game from FromSoftware remained high – it even got like that at the Game Awards honored as one of the most anticipated upcoming games.

So it’s no surprise that many are excited to see what the game has to offer and a few fans were even lucky enough to receive a code for a closed test from November 12th to 14th. However, some people who signed up for the test and received one of the strictly limited codes have no plans to actually play the game – instead, they are illegally selling the codes on eBay.

In the US they go for up to $ 250 and even in Germany they are worth around 100 euros to some.

Bandai Namco is taking legal action against this

Of course, developer Bandai Namco has already got wind of it and plans to take legal action. Finally, it is anchored in the terms of use that it is forbidden to resell the codes.

We strongly recommend that you refrain from illegal sales and purchases of these codes, especially since Elden Ring will not appear until February 2022. So it is possible that open tests also take place beforehand to get as much feedback from the players as possible.

Elden Ring will be released on February 25, 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

You can get a first impression of the game in the official trailer:

By the way: Bandai Namco recently released 15 exciting minutes of Elden Ring gameplay and you can already pre-order the game, for example on Amazon:
