The 3rd Local Dates Exhibition concludes today at Souq Waqif

Doha: The 3rd Local Dates Exhibition ends today at Souq Waqif. The exhibition which began on October 14 has sold more than 39 tonnes of dates so far.

The last day of the Local Dates Exhibition will be open to the public from 3 pm to 10 pm today. The exhibition aims to introduce and promote different kinds of dates.

Ahmed A Yafei, Head of the Section of Agricultural Guidance and Services, Department of Agricultural Affairs of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change said, “About 50 tonnes of dates were supplied for the exhibition, and more than 39 tonnes of them have been sold till Thursday, October 21.”

According to him, good sales reflect people’s interest in the exhibition and its importance since the prices are inexpensive, ranging from QR8 to QR15 per kilogram, as there are several varieties available.
