Acer announces ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition

announced Acer has officially announced its ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition laptop for 3D content makers, bringing glasses-free 3D SpatialLabs technology to a laptop you can buy.

Announced earlier this year, 3D SpatialLabs combines a combination of optical, display and sensory technologies with real-time rendering capabilities to deliver a glasses-free stereoscopic 3D experience.

These features include a special stereo camera with two sensors that track your eyes and head, an optical lens across the screen to manipulate different images of your eyes, and a display software that adjusts 3D images in real time as you move.

A 3D screen is not useful without 3D content. So the company provides some tools like SpatialLabs Model Viewer, which allows you to import 3D files from apps like Autodesk Fusion 360, Rhinoceros, and ZBrush.

Acer also says it is working with developers on more integrated solutions for the future. And although the limited availability of technology for this single laptop means rollout is likely to be slow.

The company also offers SpatialLabs Go with AI improvements that allow you to turn 2D content into a 3D stereoscopic image. Including videos, photos, simple games, and webcam feeds for participants during a video conference or video call.

Acer provides you with a 3D screen without glasses

Aside from 3D SpatialLabs technology, ConceptD 7 SpatialLabs Edition is the industry-leading laptop specification for all the real-time rendering and 3D modeling that the company envisions using it for.

Although it does not offer exact configurations yet. But it can be configured with Intel Core i7-11800H processors. With up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM (upgradable to 64GB). An Nvidia RTX 3080, and a 2TB NVMe SSD.

There is only one option for the 15.6-inch LCD screen. The screen provides a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels in 2D mode or 1920 x 2160 pixels in 3D mode.
