Doha: The afghan evacuees in Qatar watched Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League match between PSG and Manchester City as the global sports and entertainment broadcaster beIN Media Group hosted the screening. The match ended in a 2-0 win for PSG against Manchester City.
The initiative came after Nasser Ghanim Al Khelaifi, Chairman of the beIN Media Group and President of the PSG visited the Afghan evacuee housing facility. He gifted the kids with PSG t-shirts after seeing them play football.
“It was truly special to share the joy of football with our Afghan brothers and sisters. We at beIN felt it was important to play a part in supporting the country-wide humanitarian efforts to give the evacuees the care and sense of normalcy they deserve. We hope our humble presence was enjoyed and will become a fond memory that they look back on of their time in Qatar.” said the Acting CEO of beIN Mena, Mohammad Al Subaie.
Ibrahim Al Khalfan, Andy Gray, Hafid Derradji, Nicky Crosby, Sware Aldhab, Richard Keys, and Rafik Saifi were also present among the beIN representatives who visited the housing facility.Â
