Lakers trade Rajon Rondo to Cavaliers

The Los Angeles Lakers traded guard Rajon Rondo to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, who are reinforced after Ricky Rubio’s injury for the final stretch of the 2021-22 NBA season.

Rondo is just averaging 3.1 points and 3.7 assists in 16 minutes per game with the Lakers this season, being relegated to the back burner in coach Frank Vogel’s dynamic.

Now, in the ‘Cavs’, Rondo will have more prominence, being the one who guided the offensive rhythm of a team that is fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 20-15 record.

Rondo is on the NBA’s COVID-19 protocol and will have to get the green light before joining the Cavaliers.
