Holy Quran teaching centers in mosques will reopen on November 1
Doha: Starting November 1, 2021, Qatar will resume teaching Holy Quran to students at the teaching centres for boys in mosques. The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced this in line with the lifting of precautionary measures to curb the spread of covid 19 in Qatar.
The Department of Advocacy and Religious Guidance has prepared a comprehensive plan for this and will follow the necessary precautionary measures against covid 19.
In the initial phase, 61 mosques will see the return of students, explained the Director of the Department of Call and Religious Guidance, Mal Allah Al-Jaber. Al-Jaber also noted that registration in selected mosques will begin on November 1, 2021.
In order for the student to be accepted, the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance has set forth the following terms and conditions:
1. The student must be 10 years old or above.
2. To be within the geographical scope of the centre.
3. Priority is given to students of the centre who were previously registered before the pandemic at the beginning of 2020.
4. Bring a recent personal photo and a copy of the Qatari ID or passport.
5. Fill out the enrollment form for the centres of teaching the Holy Quran, signed by the guardian.
6. A pledge to abide by the official working hours and the rules and regulations in force, including the precautionary measures.
Accordingly, the Department of Advocacy and Religious Guidance issued a circular for all civil centres licensed by the Ministry in accordance with law no.12 of 2011, allowing the practice of education at the tavern of these 25 community centres.
Prior to this, Al-Jaber said, approximately two months ago, all the endowment buildings, or about six centres, whose learning facilities were separate from mosques, had been completed.
Al-Jaber emphasized the (Microsoft Teams) program of distance education will continue in the (Tahed) Quranic program for boys and girls. There are 406 episodes to be viewed for boys, while more than three thousand students are enrolled.
In addition, there are 381 seminars specifically organized for girls, in which over 4,800 students of all ages and levels take part, under the supervision of a technical, administrative, and teaching staff.
