The refurbishment of four sewage pumping stations have been completed by the Ashghal

Doha: The upgrading works of the four sewage pumping stations have been completed by the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).

New Slata, Al Mansoura, Al Messila, and Al Rayyan, located in Doha’s vital areas, will see their capacity increase between 61% and 212% on account of future development and population growth.

The Drainage Networks Projects Department at Ashghal ‘s Eng. Shouq Ibrahim said that all the pumping processes adhere to environmental standards as a part of the project.

“Three of the four pumping stations had a dramatic increase in their ability to accommodate and pump the sewage flows.  The New Slata Pumping Station’s capacity has increased by approximately 61%, allowing around 8,600 m3/day to be pumped instead of the previous 5,300 m3/day,” said Eng. Shouq.

“The Al Messila Pumping Station’s capacity has increased by approximately 212%, allowing 14,000 m3/day to be pumped instead of 4,500 m3/day. The Al Rayyan Pumping Station’s capacity has increased by 161%, to pump around 4,700 m3/day instead of 1,800 m3/day,” he added.
