Google aims for this feature, according to to report From The Information, to be the main source for following up on breaking news and verifying its contents. Including sensitive news such as the number of deaths in terrorist attacks, or the number of victims of hurricanes, earthquakes, etc.

The company tested this feature, which it has been working on for a long time, during the events that took place in Kabul, the capital of Pakistan, several weeks ago. The company has presented information about the victims based on Wikipedia during this beta phase.
