Acer has monitors that support variable refresh rate
Acer’s Predator family of gaming products now includes two 4K monitors GM712 And GD711.
The company chose to focus on the GD711 first to share the most information about. It’s an LED projector that has a brightness of 1,450 ANSI lumens (or 4,000 LED lumens) with HDR10 support.
GD711 supports 4K resolution in standard mode. But it features Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) mode. Which renders a smoother picture with fluctuating performance on powerful platforms, including Xbox Series X and fast PCs.
In this mode, the device downgrades the resolution from 4K to 1080p. But it boosts refresh rate to 120Hz for platforms or up to 240Hz for PCs. In particular, it can change the refresh rate dynamically as needed.
The PlayStation 5 platform supports up to 120Hz at 1080p. But it doesn’t work yet with VRR.
It is very difficult to find any other monitors in the market that support VRR. So this seems to be a huge advantage Acer has to differentiate itself from other models.
The company says the GD711 has a wide range of possible projection sizes. This is despite the fact that it recommends a 100-inch screen from a distance of 2.6 meters.
The device comes with the built-in Aptoide TV app store. This model has two HDMI 2.0 ports, an audio out port, and three USB-A ports. It has an expected life of about 30,000 hours in eco mode or up to 20,000 hours in standard mode.
The company did not share an expected US release date. However, it is scheduled to arrive in China in November for 11,999 CNY. To arrive in December in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for 1499 euros.

Acer announces 4K projectors
Coming back to the GM712, it’s a lamp-based 4K gaming projector that’s much brighter than the GD711 with 3600 ANSI lumens of brightness.
It comes to China in November for 10,999 CNY, and then to Europe, Middle East and Africa in January 2022 for 1,399 euros.
Although the price is a little cheaper. But the GM712 is heavier in terms of weight than the GD711. It also has a longer lifespan of about 5,000 hours in Standard mode, or up to 12,000 hours in ExtremeEco mode.
The device has many of the features of the GD711, including variable refresh rate, HDR10, and support for a refresh rate of up to 240Hz for PCs.
