Apple releases iOS 15.0.2 with some Find My fixes

Apple continues to improve iOS 15 after it was released to the public last month. Today, the company rolls out iOS 15.0.2 for iPhone users everywhere with continuous performance improvements and bug fixes.

And iOS 15.0.2 brings some important bug fixes, including fixes for the Find My network. iOS 15.0.2 is the second update to iOS 15 released in September.

iOS 15.0.2 comes a week and a half after the release of iOS 15.0.1, and it’s a bug fixing update. The iOS 15.0.2 update can be downloaded for free. The software is available for all eligible devices via an over-the-air update in the Settings app.

According to Apple’s release notes, the update fixes an issue that could cause photos saved in the Photo Library to disappear from Messages after deleting the associated message or topic.

iOS 15.0.2 also fixes an issue that could cause iPhone leather wallet with MagSafe to not connect to the Find My network, and a bug that could cause AirTag not to appear in the Find My Items tab.

There is a fix for a bug in CarPlay that could cause CarPlay to fail to open audio apps, and an issue that could cause device restore or updates to fail across iPhone 13 models when using Finder or iTunes.

This update includes the following bug fixes for the iPhone:

  • Delete photos saved in your library from messages after removing the topic or associated message.
  • iPhone leather wallet with MagSafe not connecting to Find My.
  • AirTag may not appear in the Find My Items tab.
  • CarPlay fails to open audio apps or disconnects during playback.
  • Device restore or update may fail when using Finder or iTunes for iPhone 13 models.

The company also released iPadOS 15.0.2 for iPad models with fixes for a Messages bug, AirTag bug, and a bug that could cause device restore or update via iPad mini 6 to fail when using Finder or iTunes.

point support page For updates, iOS 15.0.2 and iPadOS 15.0.2 address a vulnerability that could allow an application to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges.

The company says it is aware of a report that this issue has been actively exploited. So all users should make sure to get the update as soon as possible.
