Apple’s 140W Power Adapter is its first GaN charger

Without GaN, the 140W transducer would probably be somewhat larger due to its wattage.

Several other brands such as Anker and Belkin have introduced GaN-based chargers over the past few years for use with Apple products.

The company also confirmed that the 140W power adapter supports the USB-C Power Delivery 3.1 standard, which means it can be used to charge other devices that support this standard.

This also means that those who buy the new 16-inch MacBook Pro can use compatible third-party brand chargers to charge the computer if they wish.
