Cruz Azul is renewed with the young figures of the Mexican team

After a season in which there seems to be a setback in the level of Cruz Azul, the leadership took action on the matter and added reinforcements for the 2022 Liga MX closing championship.

Most of the names that will join the squad have something in common and that is that they are young figures from the Mexico team, such as Érik Lira, Uriel Antuna, Carlos “Charly” Rodríguez and Alejandro Mayorga.

Before anyone else is the case of Lira, who at 21 already has experience with both the Mexican under 23 team and the senior team, adding minutes as one of the most promising defensive midfielders. In the UNAM Pumas he played 60 games between 2020 and 2021, consolidating himself in the university squad.

Antuna already had experience in European soccer at just 24 years old, playing in the Netherlands for two seasons before joining MLS with the Los Angeles Galaxy. After a successful stint at the Chivas de Guadalajara scoring six goals in 62 games, he arrived at Cruz Azul with the aim of reinforcing the attacking corps.
