With the Symfonisk series, Sonos and Ikea have landed a success. Whether a lamp and WiFi loudspeaker in one, the bookshelf loudspeaker or, finally, the loudspeaker as a decorative art element – the combination devices are well received. Now Ikea has announced an update of the first generation of Symfonisk. The revised lamp speakers are coming on sale in Germany in November.

Symfonisk lamps: What makes the new edition from Ikea so special

First of all, Ikea attaches importance to more individuality with the new Symfonisk lamps. A black and white stand is offered, in which the loudspeaker unit from Sonos is inserted. It is also slightly smaller than the previous model (source: Ikea).

Customers can then personalize the lampshades further: two versions each in black and white are provided, one made of glass and one made of fabric four umbrellas in total. They differ not only in terms of material, but also in terms of patterns. The E26 / E27 socket allows more choice of light sources.

The certainly not unintended side effect: There Feet and lampshades will be sold separately in future and so can be bought more easily, there is an even greater sales potential for Ikea. This is also supported by the fact that recently rumors arose about a lower entry price for the new Symfonisk variant. Officially, however, Ikea has not yet revealed any prices for the new version.

Symfonisk is not the only Ikea product for a smart home – you can find more in the Video:

But there is more for the money, because the manufacturer duo is said to have improved on the sound too. The new Symfonisk table lamp with WiFi speaker offers “also one even wider and room-filling sound “ and create a “great listening experience no matter where it is in the home,” explains Sara Morris, Principal Product Manager at Sonos.

The completely revised sound architecture should provide better sound, regardless of the angle at which the listener is to the loudspeaker. Of course, the new Symfonisk lights are also Compatible with all other Sonos devices and the home smart system from Ikea.
