iPhone 13: Apple is backing down on repairs

When independent garages want to repair the iPhone 13, Apple makes life unnecessarily difficult for them. Finally, a questionable decision effectively deprived the companies of their business basis. If the display on the iPhone 13 is not exchanged by Apple or authorized workshops, then the face recognition “Face ID” is deactivated and is no longer available. This means for independent and smaller workshops ultimately a ban on repairs. The understandable storm of indignation has now surprisingly led to a rethink at Apple.

For this reason, there will soon be a software update for the iPhone 13 that will remove the described restriction (source: The Verge). Apple did not provide any information on the exact schedule.
