Behind the scenes, the developers at Treyarch are already working on a new “Call of Duty” title. This will be released in 2023 and could transport us back to the “Black Ops” universe. At least this is what one insider, who is considered a reliable source, reports.

Even if the focus was actually on “Call of Duty: Vanguard”, which was published at the end of last week, we have regularly received unconfirmed rumors about upcoming offshoots of the “Call of Duty” series in the past few weeks.

After the speculation turned mainly about a possible successor to “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare” from 2019, which is currently in work at Infinity Ward, the latest statements from an insider are about the next “Call of Duty” “Title created at Treyarch. Since the different studios each have three years to realize their projects, Treyarch’s next “Call of Duty” project will appear at the end of 2023 and will therefore not be officially presented until mid-2023.


A setting similar to Battlefield 2042?

The leaker “RalphsValve”, who made a name for himself as a reliable insider source in the past, is responsible for the new rumors about “Call of Duty 2023”. As “RalphsValve” reports, Treyarch and Activision are sticking to the “Black Ops” brand for the offshoot for the year 2023 and this time relying on a setting in the near future that at first glance quickly resembles the setting of “Battlefield 2042 “Will remember.

It remains to be seen whether the information provided by the insider corresponds to the facts.
